Your First Visit

Need to have your eyes checked, but you’ve never been to an eye doctor before? Here’s everything you need to know before you go.

Maybe you’ve noticed that road signs are blurry or that you otherwise don’t see as well as you used to. Maybe you’re experiencing some other problems with your eyes or vision, or perhaps you just know that getting an eye exam is recommended.

Whatever your motivation for considering your first-ever visit to the eye doctor, know that it’s a great choice to make for your health. An eye exam is about more than checking how well you can see; it’s also an opportunity to make sure your entire visual system, and even your entire body, is as healthy as possible.

Similar to any other doctor visit, you should be prepared to answer questions about your medical history, and come with a list of any medications or supplements you’re currently taking. It’s also a good idea to come with questions you’d like to ask your eye doctor.

Your eye doctor will ask you questions about your vision history and want to hear about any problems. He or she will also be interested in knowing if you have a family history of eye problems and other disorders or diseases that affect eye health, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and heart disease.

Happy Customers

Dr. Salley and his staff makes us feel super welcomed and not intimidated. Our family loves stopping by!

Jonny

I wore hard contact lenses for over a decade.  But Dr. Salley and I talked through my options.  Now I am much happier and more comfortable with my new soft lenses.

Daniel

I couldn’t have asked for more than this. I can’t say enough about Clearview Family Eyecare.

Specialities

BVD

We want to make sure we give our patients and the public trusted, professional and recent information regarding binocular vision dysfunctions (BVD), such as vertical heterophoria (VH) and superior oblique palsy (SOP). Understanding just what’s going on in your eyes and the signals being sent to them by your brain is just as vital as developing an effective treatment plan that restores your vision and your life.

Orthokeratology

It’s a non-surgical method that lets you see without glasses or daytime contact lenses. We’re able to improve your vision by gently reshaping your eyes WHILE YOU SLEEP.  In 3 years, it is expected that 50% of the world’s population will be nearsighted. Children over the age of 8 are especially at risk.

Myopia Management

Myopia is a condition of the eye in which parallel rays are focused in front of the retina, objects being seen distinctly only when near to the eye; nearsightedness
